Analog antenna
« on: September 01, 2014, 11:50:20 am »

I'm using Hauppauge 950Q USB and the Digital channels work great. In Canada however, we still have analog over the air channels. They work very poorly in JRiver 20 (As I've just started using the TV feature, I do not know if it would have been better in version 19)

Video/Audio sync is way off

Any attempt at pausing will result in these messages:

Failed to render player graph - no such interface supported
or
Failed to set recording parameters
I also had the message about the splitter, but not recently and I can't remember exactly what it said ... sorry ...

Sometimes, the message asking permission for JRiver to make modifications to my computer appears.

All of this works fine using TotalMedia Center for example - and of course with the digital tuner.

Any help appreciated

Enable logging and try to grab a log file and email it to me.  Do not forget item 5 in the instructions.

Please try this modified DLL.  Unzip the download and copy to MC installation folder.  If it still fails, please send a log again.

Thanks for the file. Unfortunately, still no joy ... Same two messages. I sent a new log.

Still not working.

I sent a new log, in case you would want one.

Thanks!

Are you able to record?  Try setting recording format to jtv and schedule a recording.  Shortly after recording starts, you can stop it, so the recording is not too long.  Are you able to play the recording?

Wow! This got interesting results ... First, even though I had forgoteen to change the recording settings to jtv, it recorded in jtv anyway. The file (actually a bunch of cnk files and one jtv file), could not play back. and gave the message "failed to connect video decoder to source / splitter". Also, 20 minutes of recording generated 22 GB of data!!

Your device does not produce TS file, thus we always fall back to jtv for recording.

From your previous log, I expected that the file be not playable.  No video encoder was applied, that is why the file is large.  It is strange though that the uncompressed video can not be played.

Could you try recording for only a few seconds, so you can get a smaller file, and share with me?  You need to zip up the entire folder of files, .cnk, .jtv, .jti, etc. - all of them in the folder.  If the total size is less than 10 MB, you may try emailing it.  Otherwise you need to use a file sharing service.

Yes I received them.  Thanks.  I am still scratching my head.  The sample recording would not play on my computer either.  I have not figured out how to make it play. :(
