View play list as panes or thumbnails
« on: September 13, 2014, 06:17:07 am »

Another question concerning my transition from MediaMonkey to JRiver:

When I open a play list is it possible to view the play list as panes or thumbnails.

In MM I could create Playlists (for instance for different composers). This allowed me to access very quickly the selection (which was permanent) without having to do a search every time that I wanted to access those tracks.

Then, when I was within one specific playlist I could switch the view from files to panes or thumbnails. That gives plenty of flexibility to view the selection.

How could this, or something similar, could be done in JRiver

Thanks. Pluvio

Create a View in Standard View for that Playlist using Set rules for file display.  See here:  http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=91541.msg629875.msg#629875

Then to switch between Panes and Categories, just Right Click on the View and Customize View using the View As drop down box.

When I open a play list is it possible to view the play list as panes or thumbnails.
Select the tab at the top to change the list style to thumbnails.

Pane views are a library view rather than a playlist one.
You could create a pane view which includes playlist groups as a category though.
You probably want the advanced option "filter in both directions" enabled for this view.
