Running JRiver on a MAC in a Windows Environment
« on: September 09, 2014, 04:27:16 pm »

I'm considering buying an Apple Laptop, but have all of my music currently on Windows-based servers in FLAC format.  I'm thinking then of either running the "parallels" program which simulates a windows environment or the bootcamp program which actually, if I understand it, runs windows on top of the MAC or completely flips back to the Apple operating environment.  So what then do I do with JRiver?  I currently have JRiver version 18 on my desktops....Should I load another windows version on the MAC and turn on the parallels program?  Do I need to consider two different versions of JRiver if I run bootcamp and flip back and forth between IOS and Windows?  Can the output files when I rip music still be FLAC regardless of whether JRiver sits on a MAC environment or Windows?  I think yes...My music is all played by sending FLAC files from JRiver on a PC through my DAC....

Some directional comments would be appreciated...
