Search function in JRemote
« on: September 05, 2014, 09:54:14 am »

Anyone else who is unable to use the global search function in JRemote on an Ipad (ios7) with JRiver 20?
I can type my search the first time, but the typed characters do not show, and search results are displayed, but after this initial search I am unable to do another search because the keyboard does not show up, neither does the text I am typing.

I have the same issue. if you hit delete a bunch of times and clear what you had tyoed previously then type in your new search, search works, you just can't see what you're typing. Tap where the search box should be and hit delete.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

What device are you guys using? Both on MC20? Light or Dark theme?

I am unable to reproduce this behaviour here. Would help if you could give some more info.

Thnx for your reply, I am using MC 20, windows 7, IOS7, both ipad (jailbroken), ipad mini not jailbroken.
I have been using both dark and light themes, the problem began after updating to the latest version of JRemote.
For global search I am using Monkeymote HD now, which works OK for the global search.

MC 19 iPhone 4. Light Theme. I'll try the dark theme. My iPad does not have the problem.

Ok, after troubleshooting, if I'm on the main screen with Audio, Video, Playlists, and Remote and tap on search, the box is hidden.

If inclick into one of the categories and click on the search from there, the box shows up.

When you tap on Audio, it defaults to a hidden search box. If you tap RETURN, that hidden search box goes away. Then you can tap on search and the box will show up.

emoon3, would you be so kind as to take a screenshot when the search box is hidden or not working properly?
I am having some difficulties visualising the issue as described.

I am releasing a performance update in a couple of days, and would love to include a fix for this.

Thank you emoon,

That is definitely weird. I`ll see if I can find anything that might cause this.

I updated one of my ipads to IOS 8 and surprise, surprise: the search function is working 100% now!
So I assume the "bug" must be somewhere in IOS 7.

Thats good to hear as I have not been able to reproduce this bug.
There was some issues with colors when switching theme, but that has been corrected.
