npw,

I recently worked with someone from iRock who verified that everything works well. The problem most likely is trying to get the correct drivers installed.

Can you give me some information so I can help you.

What version of iRock do you have?

What version of MJ/MC?

What version of the iRock Plugin?

What Operating System?

Does the iRock show up in the tree under Handhelds?

If so, does the crash happen when you click on it? Does it give you any error messages?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve,

Some more info:

iRock520
MJ/Mc v8.0.393
iRock plugin v3.0.15
Windows XP
and it does show up under the handheld tree...

When I click on the icon the I get a XP dialog box stating that MJ/MC has encountered an error...asking if I want to SEND or DO NOT SEND to Microsoft.

Thanks...NPW

npw,

Could you go to our website and get the latest Plug-in for iRock (3.0.16), I noticed you were only on 3.0.15.

If that does not work, please get the drivers for iRock from the following site and then try again.

Please let me know how it turns out.

Thanks,

I seem to have the same problem.  I downloaded the driver SteveG suggested and I've tried several times to get the 3.0.16 plugin but after every successful install, when I look at it, it says version 3.0.15.  And whenever I click the irock icon in Handhelds, the system (v.8) crashes.  My device is a new Irock 530.

Additional info for SteveG:  MJ 8.0.393, MS 2000, the irock icon is in the handheld tree, the error message is hard to read because it's only on the screen for about half a second but I think it says that MJ has encountered errors and an error log is being created and then everything goes away.  I don't know where the error log is or how to find it.  Again, I tried several times to download the 3.0.16 plugin but after doing that the apparent version is still 3.0.15.

Quinn and Npw,

There may be a problem with what is  posted on the website. I have been unable to talk to the person who handles this because he has been gone over the holidays. I am gone until Monday, but will check it out then and figure out what is  going on. Sorry for the delay.

I found a problem with the drivers. The symptom is the crash you have seen. This is corrected, but I will have to post a new Plug-in tomorrow to make the crash go away.

This change will not fix the underlying problem. In order for you to connect, you need to uninstall whatever drivers you have currently installed and then install the drivers that came with the iRock. When I do this, with my iRock 520, everything is fine.

I followed your instructions, uninstalled the plugin and the driver, installed a driver from the CD that came with the irock 530, installed your plugin and it still crashes MJ.

Quinn,

I just spoke to the developers of iRock and they are working on a solution for me on the driver side. They thought it would take a day or so. I will post something as soon as I hear.

Steve,

Have you heard anything back from the irock guys?  I finally found time to load my irock up on my development machine, and it works fine in MJ.  No crashing.  MJ still crashes on my Compaq when I click on the irock icon under handhelds.

kotfu,

iRock sent me some specs for their drivers but no information on what is the definitive driver to use. What iRock drivers are you using on the PC that crashes and what on the one that succeeds?
