Good afternoon,

I've recently downloaded JRMC20 for my 13" MBP. My music files are encoded in both FLAC and Apple Lossless. Can JRMC20 for Mac transcode Apple Lossless files to 128kbps AAC (or MP3) "on the fly" and export them to my iPod Shuffle? iTunes offers this option, but I would prefer to use MC exclusively.

Hi Tim,

I am a MC newbie so forgive me if I mislead you. MC won't transcode "on the fly" however it is very happy to do a batch convert into another lighter format.

Apple and its walled garden makes it very heard for any third party to access the onboard iTunes library of any iDevice. MC like all other commercial music library apps is locked out.

Recently, I have found a small app called Waltr, that hacks this, and allows for the transfer of audio and video to the iDevices. http://softorino.com/waltr

Thanks for the input tdc. So if I understand you correctly, I cannot use MC to export music to my Shuffle, even If I transcode the files first? Walter might allow for this, though?
