trying to sort by artist whose first name happens to be "Les" but jrmc is seeing "Les" as the french for "the" and sorts based on the second name (claypool) -- at least this is my guess. i have tried several changes to correct the problem such as changing the various artist fields around; renaming and such with no luck. i sort artists by first name BTW (just what i prefer). anyone know how to get this to sort properly?

I also sort by first name and have a couple of artists with that first name. Unfortunately i do not have this issue.

i c under tools>options>tree & view>sorting...if this is checked it may be the problem if you r using the french language

Options->Tree & View->Sorting->Articles

Remove 'les' from the articles?

removing les from the articles in tree & view did the trick - THX. only hope i dont run across a bunch of artists with les in their name
