When I Sync Handheld with my Windows 8.1 phone it works but what were single albums with various artists in MC20 become separate albums for each contributor on the phone. Is there a setting somewhere to stop this?

in the tag window check to see that the AlbumArtist field is set to Various Artists (or multiple artists). The AlbumArtist(auto) field may not be populating it if you are using MC with that field.

Otherwise I'd say off the top of my head it is the phone. Check to see what the AlbumArtist is (you might need a windows sync app to see that) not sure all the tags are visible on your phone, probably not.

Thanks for your help. I think it might be the phone, a Nokia 630, acting on the tags for each track separately rather than just using the album tags. I have overcome the problem by editing the Artist tags to be all the same for the same album.
