MC is now my default music player on Ubuntu
« on: October 15, 2014, 12:28:15 am »

Just thought I'd share this for those who want to set MC as their default player in Ubuntu but may not know how.

Copy the attached txt file to your /usr/share/applications folder and rename to mediacenter.desktop (you may need sudo)

You should now be able to right-click on a music file, go to Properties > Open With and Media Center should be in there for you to choose.

I've just gotten rid of Rhythmbox altogether, with it's awful UI.

Great tip.

I think I did an apt-get remove on rhythm box. Very annoying. I don't like feeling like I'm being railroaded.
