I'm trying to use sync in JR20 with an SD card I'm linked to over a network (JR20 is running in a VM so this was the easiest way) but when I try and sync to it I get a message telling me I'm 88GB over the available space.

Anyone know what's going on here? How can I get it to use all 128GB? ?

I wonder if this has anything to do with JRiver
It isn't that smart to conjecture up this size

What happens if you go to the card using Win Explorer?

Well I can happily copy files to it in explorer, it's only JRiver that's refusing to add the files.

In fact I just noticed that JRiver quotes it being a 30.2 GB device despite explorer showing it has a capacity of 119 GB. I've no idea where JRiver has got this idea from that only has 32GB available.

If you format any volume to FAT32, Windows limits the size to exactly 32GB.

I'd bet you a dollar that the OP's volume is actually 32GB, because it was formatted to FAT32, which limits it to that exact size (when done using Windows).

The best solution would be to format it as NTFS.  Or, if you prefer old things for some reason (or need to write to it with a variety of Macs you don't control directly and so therefore can't just make the Mac able to read/write NTFS), exFAT.

Nope, it's formatted as exFAT and has 119GB Free.

I had to create a folder on my disk, share that and use that as the device sync output location, sync the files there and then copy them over on mass to the SD card. Filled it all up to the brim no problem, just JRiver refuses to do it directly which is rather annoying.

I've tried reformatting and still does the same thing. It's a bit tedious as after syncing to the local folder it takes a good 3 hours to copy it all to the SD card.

That's annoying.  Sounds like a bug.

I have a few 64GB USB drives kicking about.  I'll try to test with one later.
