Folks,

I recently read a few threads asking for stats view in MJ8.0.
In another thread KS pointed out that Matt wanted some feedback on the way stats
view could be implemented but I could not find that particular thread.

Anyway, may I submit a suggestion about the way stats could be implemented in MJ8.0 ?

Ok, in MJ7.0, stats were displayed at the root node of Media library, categories, playlists, etc.
In MJ8.0, however, the root node of Media library now displays the search dialog and the categories node
has been merged with playlists.
The question is then : where and how could the stats view be displayed ??

My proposition : why don't display the stats in an html page ?

We already have the home node and track info displaying information through an html page.
Why don't we add a stats node - or a link to stats from the home node - that would display
a generated statistics html page ?
Going further, this page could include keywords, (like in track info) like
STATS_TOTAL_SIZE, STATS_NUMBER_ARTISTS, STATS_NUMBER_ALBUMS, etc.. that could help
customizing the view.  
The kind of information could be :
total number of tracks, total size, total length
number of albums, number of album_artist, number of genre, etc. etc.

The nice thing with an html page, is that it would be easely customizable, it could
contain as much information as one needs and it's pretty well integrated in MJ.
It could contain even more information than in MJ7.0 stats view.

So, what do you think ? JRiver, would it be easy to implement ?

At this stage I don't care how it gets implemented I just need it bad.

Maybe this is more of a wish, so I've added stats as a wish in the wish list.
Please excuse the double posting (in wish list) but a previous post I made
on this subject got removed (actually all wishes between Jan 4th and Jan 19th).
