Auto sizing columns seem to be screwed up. Looks like MJ is confusing which column is which when you re-arrange the order of the columns.

it realy is, judging from my 8000  files. don't notice any delay versus around .5 seconds before.

hm... why don't you just drop that beast and do the same stuff using windows' task planer?

Hi,
I get the error "Invalid item adding (programmer error)" when trying to switch to mini-me using the toolbar button.

This error does appear to want to go away, I press OK and it immediately reappears.

Just another way.. easier way (I think) to do the same stuff. We could use Windows Media Player to play music, Windows CD Player for audio CDs or Sound Recorder to record sound instead many of us including me chooses MJ. Maybe we're trying to do everything like Windows Next Page

This is minor but it bugs me. (pun a pleasant suprise)
The bar over the top of the "crossfade" window is undeciferable.
There seem to be two buttons: the first says "Defa"
and the second says "Alternate (with [ALT] press"
The first is surely "default" I'm undecided what the second one does.
Fix it, OK? It's creeping me out.

Gatorbit, you can't send a file to a smartlist.

Smartlists are virtual -- just a collection of rules -- no files.

Asked this question before, but no response...so...

How are you supposed to access the Repeat Previous Burn option if the burn list and related buttons are removed after each burn??  Doesn't make sense as implemented currently...as the user can't access the Repeat Previous Burn option unless he/she starts another 'bogus' burn list (to get access to the Repeat Previous Burn option).  Understand what I mean?

Seems like a better implementation would be NOT to automatically clear the burn list after a CD burn and provide a manual Clear All/Reset/New button and/or right-click menu option.  Then the Repeat Previous Burn option could just be removed.

Also, why when you start a CD burn does MJ jump to the Home page (in the background)?  Advertising gimmick?  If so, can the Plus users disable this annoying/confusing 'feature'?  (please)

8.0.193 was reported to disable vis scaling in windows smaller than 160x160.

Am I correct in saying that this isn't working?

I've tried shrinking the vis window way down in the Default Playing Now tab, and it's always scaling.

Doof...I can click on it, but what is that going to do?  You see, sense MJ deletes the burn list after a burn, all those buttons in the CD-RW content view are GONE...no Options > Repeat Previous Burn available.  Try it...you'll see what I mean about 'useless feature'.

Ah, I see what you're saying. Next Page

While I was doing that I experienced the following. This is actually the second time this has happened to me. I'm just wondering if it makes any sense to anybody.

Every so often, a build of MJ will decide it wants to crash everytime I try to access my CD-RW in any way. That could be trying to burn a CD, just displaying the contents of the CD-RW, or even trying to let MJ detect it in the CD-RW settings. It always claims that wnaspi32.dll is the culprit.

So I delete wnaspi32.dll and the problem goes away. But now every attempted burn will fail.

So I copy wnaspi32.dll back into system32 and everything is ok.

Now, before you say that maybe wnaspi32.dll is corrupted, tonight when it happened, I tried the following. I immediately copied a new copy of wnaspi32.dll into system32, overwriting the old one. The two were identical. And the problem persisted. So I deleted wnaspi32.dll, started up MJ, and I can access my CD-RW just fine. I then quit MJ, copied wnaspi32.dll back into system32 and everything is fine once more.

Any ideas?

Still loses mp3 entries from m3u playlists when imported.

Is there any chance of discarding the practice of importing the data from m3u files and just access the files directly?

Raymond,

> Just another way.. easier way (I think) to do the same stuff. We could use Windows Media Player to play music,
> Windows CD Player for audio CDs or Sound Recorder to record sound instead many of us including me chooses MJ.

you're right, all this can be done using standard windows stuff (I too choose MJ to do that stuff, that's why I registered it), but I normaly don't have Media Player, Sound Recorder and CD Player running. Windows Taskplaner on the other hand is a background thing that's running all the time, just as Media Scheduler needs to run all the time. My idea is not to drop Media Schedulers user interface, but drop the need to have it running all the time. Just let it submit it's tasks to taskplaner and retrieve the (filtered) list from it. So we wouldn't loose the nice and easy interface and still save around 5MB of ram another source of unwanted swaping activity that could cause framedrops on video recording.
In other areas you're using standard system services as well. Just think of windows codecs, there's no need to write them yourself, they are there, just as the taskplaner.

Just my thoughts... I'm always trying to keep my system lean

Bug with Tooltips:

1. When I hover the mouse cursor over the status bar, a tootip message says 'Toggle Statusbar'.  Clicking on the Statusbar does not toggle it on and off.  How do we toggle the statusbar?  I've been trying for a year to figure this one out.

2. The Player's Settings button tooltip is showing undisplayable (garbage) characters in its text:

3. The Settings tooltip info for Continuous and Shuffle is wrong (above)...I have Continuous ON and Shuffle OFF (appears they are flipped or something)

Zrocker-

The "repeat burn" option will be gone soon. Instead, the user will just be able to select the number of copies to be burned, then the burn dialog will stick around until it's done making copies.

Doof-

I'm trying to track this one down. Several users have reported similar problems, I just haven't been able to reproduce it here. It may have nothing to do with aspi or the burner control itself, but something within MJ. Any more info you find on the problem would be helpful.

Thanks,
John T.

Hi,
Weird behaviour in File Properties brought on by pilot error. Here you go...

1. Find a file, open the properties
2. Do a CDDB look up on the file (Great work Nikolay - fixed that bug lickity-split!)
3. While the lookup is going on, go off somewhere else, browse the web etc.

(Meanwhile the CDDB lookup has completed and it has displayed (behind your browser or something) a list of album choices)

4. Come back to MJ and look at the properties. You can click in the album or other fields and type what you want but pressing return won't work. You can click in another field to complete the edit.

5. You can then click on Save.

6. You move your browser window and find the choose match window from CDDB alive and well waiting for your response.

Weird!

Bug:

1. With a track playing and Playing Now's Playlist being viewed, if you right-click and choose 'Update Playback Order', MJ looses the visual indication of what track is playing, see:

NOTE: No speaker icon for current track and how MJ has highlighted (in blue) the wrong track (for currently playing).  An F5 [Refresh] does clear things up.  ALSO, the Sequence # starts at 2 now (not 1) in the playlist...that's probably why MJ highlighted the wrong (previous) track in blue.

A few bugs I've noticed:

1. In build 195, the last few seconds of a track don't play before the next track starts (no buttons pressed).  I have standard track spacing, 0.5s delay.

2. In the playing now/main tab, if I move the splitter between the visualization and song list, then switch to the track info tab, then back to main, it forgets the splitter position.

3. The player window shows only half the total time for mono MP3s.  It plays the whole song, and the little track position arrow goes off its scale, through the volume control, and keeps on going!

Thanks,
Gary

in v7 I could rip and encode simultanously with mpc - that is a song was ripped to wav and then encoded to mpc while mj continued to rip the rest of the songs to wav and the encoder followed along.
In the first v.8's I had to deactivate the rip and encode simultanously to prevent a MJ error.

Now I dont have to deactivate that, BUT now MJ don't just continue to rip, but pauses until the encoder has done encoding, and then continues to rip one more song, and so on.

This can't be the idea? The time spent doing ripping and encoding is significantly prolonged this way comparing to the older versions (6 & 7) of MJ

Xstatic,

I'm sorry but we don't support "rip and encode simultaneously " for encoder which do not support that (MPC is one of them)

Nikolay

P.S: may be MPC creator will write native MJ encoder?

Like in Build 193, double-clicking a file in view (when replace all is set as action for double-clicking), MJ uses standard and not crossfade(smooth), as I have set up. Before Build 193 this worked, but now it doesn't! WHY?

XStatic,

MJ 7 didn't do real on-the-fly encoding.  It would just encode one track while it ripped the next.

MJ 8 actually encodes AS it rips, so there's no intermediate WAV.  It's much faster for formats that support it.

You can always rip to WAV and convert to mpc over-night if it's too slow.

OK Matt, I see your point.

As long as mpc don't support this feature, I would of course have preferred the old routine, encoding while ripping the next, but I can of course live with this slightly more timeconsuming routine.

I have been using version 8 since the first release. What I have noticed, and its driving me crazy is that when playing music, there are pops and clicks. These seemed to be caused by the visualizations, but not always. This problem seems to come and go with versions. The last release seemed to be fine. The prior two or three were not, and this release seems to have the problem again. It is also noticable when using control-N to go to the next song, there is a noticable pop. Anybodyelse having this problem?
