Original Files Invisible after importing
« on: January 30, 2002, 08:28:11 am »

I have installed Media Jukebox 7.2.280 and decided to import my 15 GB of .MP3 files that reside on a NTFS drive. After importing into library, the native .MP3 files have become invisible on my drive. I can see the path (x:\music\....)as I look at each .MP3 in the media library, however, when I go to x:\music there are no files viewable. The space on that drive is being occupied, but the files are invisible. When I search that drive for a .MP3 I get zero results. This action happened after I installed and imported .MP3 files. Any answer to this mystery will be greatly appreciated.

That's a stumper.

Do the files play?

Is it possible something in the shell or drive mapping got goofed up?

Thanks.

Could be possible that you may have encrypted your MP3 files on one volume? Win2k, does something strange when it comes to moving them.
Also possible that the iconcache is broken/corrupted? Delete the Shelliconcache and reboot, or use the TweakUI component. is X:\music invisible in Explorer, what about the command line, what does it report?

Hi,
Are you the administrator or in the administrator group on the machine?

Will MJ play a file even though you can't see it?

Thanks,
John
