Started playing around with Video in MC20.
I can play videos with audio on my Mac and the PS3,
but I get no audio on my iphone and ipad with JRemote .

Any ideas?

Anyway I found the problem.
MC will Play AC3.
PS3 will Play AC3
Iphone and Ipad will NOT play AC3 streaming to JRemote from MC.

Up to now I've been using AirVideo Server to stream Videos with any Audio format to the Iphone and Ipad without first having to convert the Audio from AC3 to AAC because AirVideo Server does the conversion on the fly and it is so fast I can't even tell conversion is happening.

So now if I use MC to stream video to JRemote I'm going to first have to convert all my videos with AC3 audio to AAC.

Can some one please confirm this or I'm I missing something?

If this is indeed the case. Will Mac MC 20 add future support for on the fly conversion ?

P.S. Just noticed JRemote has options to transcode audio but AC3 is not supported.
So I guess, what I should have asked, since this is the Remote forum, is:
Will JRemote add future support for AC3 ?

The audio transcoding setting is not related to video streaming. It only applies when streaming music files.
I am not the right guy to answer questions regarding video transcoding. Maybe Hendrik can give a more detailed reply regarding AC3 transcoding.

MC can convert all your videos on the fly to a format supported by the iPhone, but as you noted its not supported in the Mac version yet.
It'll be coming soon to the Mac version, though.
