What did you do to 3D playback?
« on: November 28, 2014, 12:56:52 pm »

I have been waiting for years for this to work and decided today to upgrade to MC20.  I noticed it had a "WDM" driver.  So I thought aww nuts, let me go ahead and try wasting my time again.....

Opened up a 3D movie, opened TotalMedia Theater 6 and picked JRiver WDM Driver.

Instantly locked on my 7.1 DIRAC live system and blew my roof off my house with NO lip sync issues.  I don't CARE what you did but DO NOT BREAK THIS!  LOL.  My wife is out spending money on Black Friday and my god, tonight I will be one lucky man when she sees I finally got her 3D movies all working with our surround system!  We haven't watched one in 1.5 years because of this!

Tonight will be "date night" in this house..... ;).

Enjoy.
I didn't think I'd like 3D - but that was before I actually watched 3D. I just got a 3D capable TV and saw my 3D first movie. Now I love it.

I think there are some really good 3D movies.
Have you tried?
Avatar
Gravity
Star Trek - Into the Darkness
Hugo
Prometheus
IMAX Under the Sea (great for showing off 3D)

You can't go past a high WAF rating.

Happy days.

What is a WAF rating?  :)

The last 3D movie I watched was Avatar so I am way behind.  However, I have continued to keep buying them so I will be going back to revisit my library ;).

What is a WAF rating?  :)

Wife Acceptance Factor  - it's an imaginary place, unreachable by most, where the wife approves of your spending time and money on your htpc hobby. Usually, if the wife can use the htpc without confusion and complaints (and help), we consider that "her acceptance" and just keep the money part quite.  ;D

I love it!   ;D

I definitely have WAF in this house.  I tell her, I buy you shoes, dresses and purses etc. as you wish.  I will have all the theater and computers I dream of.  She happily obliged  ;D

I was looking and I own all the movies you said except Hugo which was a good movie!  I can't wait for her expression when she finds out tonight after shopping, that Dispicable Me 2 3D will work as intended ;).

I can't wait to watch Pacific Rim and Avatar again on this new system!
