Some MP3 files WILL NOT PLAY . . .
« on: January 26, 2002, 07:50:35 am »

I'm using XP Pro with 384 MB memory, AMD K2 500, MJ 7.2.280 . . . I've integrated MJ to the shell. SOME mp3 files will not show up when I use WinExplorer to "Add to playing now", even, for instance movement 2 out of 4, where 1,3 and 4 play just fine . . . leaving aside the shell integration, I go to MJ and attempt to File->Open Media File, select in the dialog bos and get a popup with the "Please select file(s) to play" message . . . ALL play fine in Win Media Player.

What version of MJ are you using? What happens to MJ? Does the display show anything?

"Please select file(s) to play" is the message you get when a file is unsupported.

It looks like, from what you have written, that you are (trying to) play the files without the more formal procedure of importing them into the database first.
Now, of course they should play anyway, and this is not a solution even if it does work but....
Do they play if you import the import the files into MJ first?
