NAS playback
« on: December 02, 2014, 10:26:08 am »

Hey,

Are there any apps that allow you to browse a NAS share and playback the media?

I include VIDEO_TS and BDMV full disc rips in the requirement.  Happy to pay for something that has a nice UI.

Thanks.

You should let us know what type of device you want to stream to. My Synology NAS provides an app for my iPhone but I don't believe it'll stream from a ts_video folder, and (correct me I'm wrong) I dare suspect you'll not be able to find a capable app for either the iPhone or Android.

Have you tried Gizmo? If the files are loaded to your MC library then Gizmo will be able to pick them up and stream the video.

As a fallback option, you could try ES File Explorer File Manager. I know it can surf a local network. Haven't tested its audio or video player.

Devices to stream to would be a Nexus, or other Android based tablets.
