>So, I guess it's not a bug, it's a feature
I think so
Well what happened is that everyone complained about the "32" track, due to taggers saving in id3v1, and not id3v1.1, and or not correctly using the "0" byte and what they did was padded the comment field with spaces, so "32" would show up in the track field.
what j river did, was what i sugested in a earlyer post was when it imports and it sees a space or "32" it just makes track 32 = "" or basicly "0", it was easy to do, and there is very few cd-roms with 32 tracks.
if you use MJ it will save track 32 if it reads it from a cd-rom, or if you enter it directly it does save it to the mp3, it is just when your importing it will read track32 as "0"
i do not feel its' a bug i think they made it that way to fix another problem, and that is trying to make id3v1 tags compatable with id3v1.1 tags and due to the way many of the taggers work no matter what you do your not going to catch them all.
everyone is basing the fix on a tag that was written to the tag correctly, but if byte 29, and byte 30 of the Id3v1.1 or Id3v1 is not per standards you still make a mistake in reading a wrong track#.
personaly i use id3v1.1 tags, and not id3v2 tags and don't see what the big deal is, i am not going to lose any sleep because 1 of my 2000. cd-roms does not have a track32 (i have 75,000 mp3's) that i can manualy change and enter back in after a import.
I can find better things to do with my time.

the best way is Update all database fields.
Since i have 75,000 files that takes longer since MJ does not allow me to update by drive (and i told MJ8 would allow this, but as to date they have not done anything about it). so it is easyer for me to delete the files from the listing and reimport.
the problem with that is if it is in a play list or anyother list it will be removed.

To Complex
Update Library: Update New Data Base Fields, Will Get Changes
Missing Files need To Be Imported
