HDTV Tuner support?
« on: January 23, 2002, 11:32:05 am »

Any chance you could get HDTV tuner support working? I must tell you that I own a Hauppauge WinTV-HD and the Win2K software you have to use with it is crap.

I'd buy into any other software that supported the card. I'm sure many others would too.

I did watch Silicon Spin this past weekend and they said that ATI supported HDTV but you had to have the tuner to feed it.

Does Hauppauge have HDTV bult in or do you need to feed it allso?

Would you mind trying version 8 of MJ (available in a thread here)and telling us what you find?  It may work.

Ok, the WinTV-HD is a full standalone HDTV receiver/decoder card. It has it's own RGB outputs and everything. The HiPix and the AccessDTV are the only other two HDTV cards available and all 3 are based on the Terralogic Janus chip.

I tried the software and it most definately didn't work.  I was able to get sound, but not picture. The sound I was getting was from NTSC channels because there were no options for tuning DTV-ATSC channels.
