I built a simple test playlist of the same song all at different basic volume levels (high, med, low). (3 songs (from the same recording, but at different volume levels, all analyzed)  I turned on volume leveling in DSP studio.  (I used Direct Sound output).  The songs all played at different volumes.  A check of the audio path shows all played at -2.6 due to volume leveling.  The analyze audio for the R128 shows the expected correct values, non of which are -2.6.  I added one more song to playlist, now 4 songs.  Two of the other songs (Plus the one just added) started playing at correct volume and the audio path showed correct leveling.  One song stayed at the wrong -2.6 level.  I added a 5th song to the playlist.  Now all work properly.  I haven't tried to replicate this with a new playlist.

Wonder if it is a little bug?

When all tracks in Playing Now are from the same album, then they are leveled using album mode, which preserves volume differences between individual tracks.
Once you add a track from another album, it switches to track based leveling.
