Doof: Are you still havng file conversion problems? Certainly appears to be working OK for me. Did not check all possibilities but did check:

a> wma to mp3 vbr
b> mp3 vbr to ape. That's the format you use most often isn't it? Seems to work OK here.

Good luck!

Hi,
   It seems to be working for the most part but a few problems...

1) MJ doesn't update the ID3V1 tags as it converts to MP3.

2) mj doesn't update the library with the converted file details as it does each file in  a batch. It waits until the end.

3) Because of #2 above if you exit MJ while the conversion is going on you don't get a warning and all the files converted are not updated. You then need to go through a long process of removing the pre-files and adding the post-files and all the tag info is lost too.

Otherwise from a media point of view it appears to be pretty solid. I have tested...

APE -> MP3 CBR (160)
MPC -> MP3 VBR (Normal / High)
OGG -> MP3 VBR (Normal / High)

Well, I just installed 8.0.183 on my laptop and conversions are working fine. So it's gotta be something with just my system at home. I've tried all sorts of combinations relating to uninstalling®einstalling MJ and no luck, but I'm not giving up (I just had to go to bed Next Page).

At home it doesn't matter what format I try to convert from or to. I always get the "Decoding Error" message.

Hi,
   Selecting Properties on 2000|PLS| files seemed to take longer than with previous builds, plus MJ was playing the in background but it did not switch from track to track during the collection of properties.

Thanks,
John
