When I have my desktop hooked up in the media room to my Onkyo 809, I often play a game (Dragon Age: Inquisition currently) while listening to Spotify or di.fm.

Anyway, I route this through Media Center via loopback.

What happens is when I am just walking around in the game everything is fine. As soon as I fight starts or something with quite of audio content, the other music app's volume gets turned down way low.
Most of the time it comes back up after the fight is over and the sound in DA:I calms down, but sometimes this seems to cause Spotify to stop playback.

Anyway, is there anyway to control this behavior? I actually kind of don't mind it especially when there is important dialogue or something, but I would to control it if possible (turn on/off, adjust how much the volume reduces, etc.)
Also, is this the expected behavior, or is there something going on?
