Will there be an Id version on Windows 8.1? If not, how does the Linux version compare regarding video playback?

..also if it end up coming with Win8.1 for free I'd recommend you offer a Win build option as well as the planned Linux one.

It really is an intriguing almost MC SOC form factor at an unbelievable price point!
