Playlist Integrity in Backup

When I do a library backup and then restore the library on a different computer the columns in the playlist are the default columns and not the ones I displayed in the original playlist. The songs are all there and in the right sequence but the columns displayed are the defaults.  Am I doing something wrong with the backup?  Is there a way to change the default columns and order in MC?  Thanks.
