Issue with syncing to AK100 II microsd card

I am using MC (20.0.63) to sync playlists to my AK100 II.  When syncing to the built in storage everything works as expected: it see the tracks already on the device built-in storage, removes tracks I have removed from my sync lists, etc.  When it then goes to sync the microsd card mounted in the device, MC checks the card and believes it needs to recopy all of the tracks to the card again.  Any thoughts as to what might be happening and how to resolve it?
