Well, I thought it might have been font related so I removed all user fonts leaving only system fonts. Did a restart et cetera. Still crashes. I suspect it's the fontd process. Did font validation within font book too and all fonts currently passing...

I'm afraid I'm not sure how to enable logging, though I'm not afraid of terminal so can give it a go. Interestingly, the app tries to launch something in the dock for a fraction of a sec just before the crash; I believe this causes the crash. I also tried to run the app in my clean test user and it DOES run and launch there. It also does the same thing where it launches something in the background (it might be the "fontd" process?), but makes it through it. I'm gonna check in case it's a font conflict or something?

1. To enable logging, go to Help / Logging and check "Output to a log file"
2. let it crash
3. Help / Logging / Report problem
4. send to logs at jriver dot com (replace "at" and "dot" with "@" and ".")

It sounds like auto import is encountering a file that is causing the crash. Do you have time before the crash to disable auto-import? (Tools / Options / Library, un-check "Run auto-import in background")

I'll give that a blast now. The version on the clean user crashes if I try and change the media location to one of my second drives. I don't store my media on my system drive!

The log file will probably point out which particular piece of media is causing the crash.

I popped the logs through in a email. I think it's the media being stored on a different drive. On the clean user it crashed as soon as I change the media location to the non startup drive. Even when it's just an empty folder! And this is with autoimport turned off. Is there a handy way of killing the PMW preferences so I can start fresh, perhaps change media location? I've changed permission on the drives so there shouldn't be any basic write problems.
