Controlling MC9 Clients over a Network
« on: October 05, 2003, 12:36:45 pm »

Sorry for the dumb newbie question but....

I was under the impression that MC9 could stream files to a MC9 "client" computer that was also running an iteration of MC9. I thought that this would allow me to use one computer running MC9 to control a second remote computer on my network to playout a wav file without having physical contact with the remote PC.

Using Media Server I have sucessfully "shared" my Media Library on the remote PC but I can't find any reference to controlling MC9 on the remote PC in the help files or in the user forum.

Am I out of my mind or am I confusing the featureset of MC9 with something I might have read about MusicLobby (which I don't yet own).

Thanks for your feedback.

Have you tried the webremote plug-in? It is written for Media Jukebox 8 but it sort of works with MC9 (don't try doing anything with the playlists though)
