I have explored the taging functionality in JRiver and found it to be quite satisfactory, but with room for improvement.
Some preliminary suggestions as to how user interface can be approved:
1. Say that I wish to use the function "fill properties from filename" in order to fill in the track names. Inevitably - if the filename contains for instance track number or any other information in the filename (which is not uncommon) - I have to remove them manually. Fair enough. But very cumbersome as I have to press "rename" for each and one of the tracks. Foobar has solved this in a very convenient way - no need to press any button for each renaming.
There is of course the automatic and inteligent fuction. The idea is very good. It senses the track number in front and removes is from the track name.
But why is it not possible to choose that only the track name should be subject to this automatic/intelligent function, the same way that you can use the "rename" function to any individual column.
As this function is today, you may obtain correct track name, but at the expense of risking arbitrary renaming of album-title, artist name and so on.
2. Why not possible to select several albums to appear in the same library tab?
Today you have to use a workaround to do this: first select the artist, and then make a sub-selection of the albums.
Kind regards,
