  • LIFE IS A RADIO... CRANK IT UP TO 11!

using logitech setpoint with logitech mouse, i have the buttons on the mouse programmed, the volume, mute buttons seem to work no matter where i have my mouse. however, pausing jriver only works if i click on jriver or display view, if im in firefox, or any other window, then pause will not work.

is there away to make the pause button on mouse to always pause jriver no matter where i have mouse placed?

The command in setpoint i have setup for pause is...Ctrl+P

Thanx in advance.

I was able to get this to work for my Logitech keyboard by adding this line to the [Players] section of "C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPointP\players.ini":
MC=wac,Media Center 20.exe,MC,JRiver Media Center 20,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0,1,MC
Restart Setpoint and you should be able to control MC when it is in the background.

ty for reply.. i've navigated to "C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPointP\players.ini" and opened the notepad. do i just copy "   MC=wac,Media Center 20.exe,MC,JRiver Media Center 20,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0,1,MC   " and paste it at the end where it says true? do i need any special charachters between True and this new code?

Thanks for clarification.

BTW, there is a thread in a previous MC version's forum (look for "pause" in the title IIRC) about how to make the labeled "Pause" button on a keyboard of a different PC/laptop always pause MC (on a separate HT PC) regardless of focus.

No, it has to be in the [Players] section of the file.  The 4th line should be "[Players]" so put it on its own line directly under there.  You should use Wordpad instead of Notepad so you can see the line breaks.

no go cncb.
opened in wordpad. hit enter under players add...

MC=wac,Media Center 20.exe,MC,JRiver Media Center 20,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0,1,MC

then saved over writing the previous players file.

then rebooted.
In firefox And outlook 2010 ( the 2 programs i use daily) if i press the button designated for pause on logitech mouse firefox/outlook 2010 brings up a print page window/select printer.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry, I have dedicated media control buttons on my keyboard, so if you don't have these on your mouse it probably won't work.  However, if you can run a program with the mouse button press you would be able to run an MC20.exe command to control MC directly.

awww that might be it... in my setpoint it shows all buttons that can be customized. The button im using is considered a "keystroke Assignment" with the command of CTRL+P, it does pause jriver as long you dont click away from it...
I also own a logitech keyboard and just noticed the same behavior. FN F11 will not pause jriver. unless you have clicked on jriver and then no where else.

quite the pita
Thanks anyway

And, you can use any key.
