linked songs get duplicated

I don't know if it is a bug or I just can't wrap my mind around it.

I have a smart playlist. There 2 linked songs on this playlist:
Neutral Milk Hotel - Two-Headed Boy > Neutral Milk Hotel - The Fool

If I sort this playlist by Last Played (z-a) second track in the chain gets duplicated in the playing now. If I sort it by Last Played (a-z) this doesn't happen.
