Upgrade MC
« on: April 16, 2015, 08:50:32 am »

Purchased an Id late last year. Have been regularly updating it via menu item 12 and ran it again last night where it said everything was up to date. However, my MC is still version .64. How do I get my version of MC upgraded? In the Linux forum I see all these newer versions with great features added.

The Id version will always be a little behind the other versions.  It won't be long.

We don't update the Id to the latest version constantly because we want it to be super stable.
That said an update should be coming soon.

There is an update to 20.0.108 available now.

Bob -

Does this mean that beta12 has been superseded?
Does it mean the DLNA issues with the ID/Linux MC have been corrected?

This is an update to MC only. For the Id this will mainly resolve some issues regarding flac files and freezing after video playback.
The only DLNA issue specific to the Id/MC linux that I recall is that playing back wave files is requiring the whole file to be converted before playback starts. That has not been fixed yet.

Just confirming that I can run menu option 12 from the ID main menu to initiate this upgrade. Thanks,

Ah.  So if I'm on beta12, I can still update MC and not lose the ability the remote screen?  I didn't realize that.   The DLNA issue I was referring to is what you said.   Any time line on a fix?

I'm pretty certain (though not 100%) that you should be able to do the update without losing beta-12.
No timeline on the fix, hopefully we'll have some time to look at it closer tomorrow...

MC on the Id update server has been upgraded to build 20.0.110. This fixes the problem with wave files needing to finish being encoded on the server before playing on the Id

I hope to get the beta into the mainstream update this week. It just needs a couple of extra small bug fixes past the beta.
