Intermittent "Something went wrong with playback" errors
« on: April 18, 2015, 08:46:35 pm »

I intermittently get the following error:

Something went wrong with playback.
Details:
Playback could not be started on the output 'WASAPI' using the format '44.1kHz 2ch'.
...

It seems like the error comes randomly.  Sometimes just hitting OK and then Play will start my music back up, other times I seem to have to restart JRiver.  I haven't been able to find a rhyme or reason yet.  It seems to occur on different tracks at different times.

I use an older PCI multi-channel sound card (M-Audio Delta 1010LT) to play back multiple zones in my house.  The card is not officially supported on the OS I'm running (Windows Server 2012 R2 64-Bit), but I managed to get the driver loaded.  That makes me think it could possibly be a hardware/driver issue, but I'd like to rule everything else out first.

Anyone have any suggestions on this issue?  Any help appreciated.  Want to get my music playback stable.
