Hi, 2X DSD still not working, only DSD 64, through Mytek 192/DSD Stereo Dac.
It neither up-converts Flac, or plays DSD128 Files .
Settings are correct as far as i know, and DSD 128 isn’t listed in any of the most recent Updates,
including the one at the top of the page.
Looking forward to it when it’s finally available.

Try this. Make sure bitstreaming is set to DSD then go into DSP Studio and set the following for Output Encoding:

I'm able to DSD128 this way.

Hi,I have 2x DSD over Dop checked, and DSD Bitstreaming, but don’t want the Volume Normalizing, is that necessary?

Nope, it isn't. Just have to enable DSD bitstreaming and 2xDSD in DoP format and it should be fine. ;)

I’m sorry to report that I have the settings you mentioned, but I get error message when trying to play 2X DSD.
Up-converting to DSD is fine, and sounds better than Audirvana, but AV plays 2X DSD, tho doesn’t up-convert.
I’ll check with Mytek, and thanks.

That's strange. I don't have any problem listening to 2xDSD via DoP bitstreaming using my Hugo. Have you tried playing without 2xDSD in DoP format for Output Encoding?

I guess it's a matter of taste, but 2xDSD isn't an up-converting especially for PCM or DXD (which is also PCM). DSD introduces high frequency noise due to its encoding mechanism. 2xDSD or DSD128 is better since it pushes the noise to even higher frequency, but DSD64 really needs a low pass filter for playback (JRiver MC has excellent low pass filters for DSD to PSM conversion), so it will degrade higher frequency signal of the original, but there is no choice for this because the noise is there loudly and clearly.

Yes, DSD(64) over Dop is fine.
Haven’t ever heard the noise you speak of.

Well, JRiver MC 20 doesn’t work in DSD128 on the Mytek.
I checked with Mytek.
I tried USB, but sound breaks up.
Mytek needs Firewire, and 4 channel DSD over Dop, which isn’t available.
I’ll continue to use it for DSD 64, which is already excellent, and use Audirvana Plus for DSD 128 Files, as I have been.
Good enough.

lol

What is the exact error message you are getting?

You probably won't notice the high frequency noise because your DAC filters out for you when it plays DSD. :)

The message is “Something went wrong with playback” when DSD 128 over Dop is selected.
But Mytek said JRiver isn’t set up for use in DSD 128 with the Mytek.
DSD 64 is fine, up converting and DSD Files with Firewire, but USB just doesn’t work on Mac/Mytek, and Audirvana can be used with Firewire
for DSD 64 and 128 Files, no on the fly up-converting.
JRiver needs to make a 4 Channel Dop setup, same as Audirvana, for DSD 128 with Mytek.
Disappointing, but I’m happy with what I’ve got, and JRiver may yet get to it, I hope so.
