Powerdvd15 ans wdm driver issue
« on: June 08, 2015, 02:51:31 pm »

Hi everyone
Hère is my setup

À computer with powerdvd15 mc20 with wdm driver, an asus hdav 1.3 deluxe an NVIDIA vidéo card with HDMI 1.3 and a Denon avr3808.

When i play a blu-ray with 7.1 sound :
Over hdmi my receiver see 7.1 sound.
Directly to the soundcard it sees 7.1 sound.
Over mc20 wdm driver , it sees 2 channel sound.
I can't see what parameter to change, if i decode sound with powerdvd15 or not it doesnt change anything.

Thanks for help

I don't use WDM so maybe this won't help/work - but if you go the Windows Sound properties, click on the WDM properties, and look at the Advanced Tab, does it give you the option to select higher quality?

Just remember that everytime you update JRiver (or it updates itself) you need to go back into the settings and change it from 2 channel to 5 or 7.
Another thing I find is I get major audio lag if I have a different sample rate for the WDM driver then the source which is almost always Power DVD.
So PowerDVD is almost always going to be 48KHz so that's what I set the WDM driver to so it does no re-sampling.

If installed as an administrator, it seems that may not be the case: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=97111.msg676366#msg676366
