  • nothing more to say...

I've been a JRiver user from the days of Media Jukebox 7. As I joined just before MJ8 was released, my license was good for 8.400. As of now, I cannot figure out how to record from an external source to MC20 for Linux, so I was able to download MJ8.400 to my Linux distro with WINE. MJ8 doesn't recognize the dvd/cd inputs, but it does recognize the line in from my sound card. I am able to use the output from my pre-amp (or you an use the tape out from your tuner) to record vinyl to your music folders. And it will also play back your music library also. About the only thing that doesn't work is parts of the DSP studio. The playlists and smartlists work fine also.

I haven't tried it, but I believe MJ14 is free and does not require a license and will record and playback the same way.

These downloads are located in the Interact wiki.

Hope this info is useful.

  • Autumn shade...

Honestly, for recording I'd use Audacity on Linux instead of using Wine with another program.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

ACK. BTW: I prefer arecord. ;)

The MJ14  won't run on my Linux Mint (wine-1.7.38).
