disabled popup messages in 20.0.101 ?
« on: May 05, 2015, 02:19:43 am »

The following has been changed in the windows version 20.0.101:
Quote
7. Changed: The popup messages are disabled so that hopefully they won't steal remote control input (testing appreciated).

I remote control JRiver with http request. (Debian 7 + mediacenter 20.0.84)
If JRiver shows a popup message, I am not able to control JRiver until I close the popup window.

Will there be the same change for Linux?
If no, is there another possibility to dismiss a popup?

I'd wait until a linux version > 20.0.101 comes out and try it.

I tried 20.0.105.

I can produce popUp with deleting a current played track.
The good news I am able to remote control the mediacenter while a popUp is shown ;D

Is this what you wanted with this change?

Would you tell us step by step exactly how you produce this popup?

1.) Play a track
2.) delete this track
3.) if no popup is shown, I just play the deleted track a again

Remember, it is just for testing.
The popup doesn't matter.
I only want to ensure, I am always able to control JRiver remotely.

Background:
The mediacenter with tightvnc runs on an headless debian.
If for any reason a popup is produced, the http-request still needs to work.

I can remote control JRiver even if a popup is shown.
It seems, that you already implemented that.
Is that right?

You are doing all 3 steps that produce the popup from within JRemote, correct?

The reason I was to track this down is the possibility that the popup shouldn't appear when being controlled with JRemote/Gizmo and never when the /mediaserver switch is enabled.
If MC is being run locally, then the popup is normal and shouldn't block remote use.
