Author Topic: Song terminates playback mid-track, skips to next track without apparent reason  (Read 934 times)

Hi,
I occasionally and frustratingly encounter audio tracks that STOP mid-song, and without apparent reason skip onto the next track in the album.
Is this possibly related to bookmarks?

With other players I've used, this normally indicates a damaged file.  Take a look at the file metadata for clues.  You might find a strange duration, or bitrate, or something else that doesn't seem right.  Or not.  That's just been my experience with a bunch of damaged files I was doing some testing with.

No.  Bookmarks only set where the track begins, not where it ends, and don't apply to music files unless you've done something odd to override the default behavior.

It could be [Playback Range] if you accidentally got that set on some of your files:

You can make a smartlist to check for this. Import this into a Smartlist:
Code: [Select]
-[Playback Range]=[]
Any file that is listed has a Playback Range set. This could be files imported from a CUE type rip (where the FLAC or whatever is the full album, and the tracks are defined in the CUE file).  But, if not, then it can cause that kind of playback issue.  You can just clear the tag to fix them, if so.

Other possible candidates might be problems with your Audio Setup.  If it isn't Playback Range, describe your stuff more.
