I noticed this issue happening more and more.

It says its buffering, but when I check Network Stats there is no I/O's.

I then restart the program and it works fine, but again it will at some stage , specially with a complete album stop after a song.
Sometimes it just pauses and I have to hit play again on the android remote.
Not sure what is going on?

That is often caused by a stall in the data access.  It could possibly indicate a disk or network related problem, but it could be from a variety of causes (also including that the output device is stuck or busy).  The lack of network I/O (assuming the source of the files is on a network share) is not surprising.  That is, in fact, expected.  MC stops when it can't get any more data to play or doesn't have access to the device where it should be playing (otherwise, it would be playing it).  So, it is stuck waiting for some reason, and stops.

This is not normal behavior, and it indicates that something in your system is misbehaving.  Please read:

Regarding stopping after first song. I was hunting around for a solution as to why when I playback to my Raspberry Pi renderer, it always stops after the first track. The answer is:-

Find the device in the MC Zone list.
Right click
DLNA controller options
Disable SetNext support.
