ATI All in Wonder 9800pro and MC9?
« on: September 18, 2003, 08:27:05 pm »

Hi all,

I am considering getting the ATI All in Wonder 9800pro video card as part of a new computer system.  It comes with a remote control.

I want to use the new system and MC9 to play music and videos on various stereo and TV stuff.

Does anyone have experience with this card and MC9?  How much will the remote control  talk to MC9?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,

ATI video cards are great, and the TV should work really well from within MC.

Don't get too excited about the remote though.  It can't control other things like your stereo or TV.  I'd recommend ordering an IRMan (or similar) and then using your favorite universal IR remote.

I think the Remote Wonder is a great product.  Sure, you can't use it to replace your existing IR remotes because it is RF...  but that's a "feature" from my perspective.  It's great to be able to control your volume or switch tracks from another room.

I also use a AIW 9700P, and have to admit being disapponted with the tuner's quality.  Even when the tuner uses the same cable connection as the VCR, my VCR's recordings are better quality.  I've tried just about everything to get rid of a cross-hatched flicker in the AIW's tuner.

On the other hand, DVD playback is beautiful ...
