Some of the track numbers are missing for some reason in my library, therefore the tracks do not play in the right order in the album.

I tried changing the track list into the right order of the album, so that I can utilize the 'fill track numbers from list order' tool to add the track numbers (instead of adding the track numbers individually for each track). How can I change the displayed list order? Dragging and dropping to the right place did not work.

The not being able to move tracks around to reorder them has been an issue for me before also.  All of the views I'm aware of order the tracks by *some* column, whether it be Song Title, Artist, Album, etc.  None of the views will let you do arbitrary ordering.  But the solution is easy. 

Just add the files in question to a new play list.  Or, clear your Playing Now, and add them to that.  Once they are in a playlist by themselves, or Playing Now by themselves, you an rearrange them to the correct order and then use Fill Track Numbers from List Order.
