SOS Buffering Problem
« on: July 19, 2015, 05:34:16 am »

I am preparing a playlist for tonight's event (in 6 hours) and after playing two songs unattended MC starts buffering in the middle of the songs!

Please, help! I can export the playlist and play via VLC, but in that way I won't be able to make changes on the fly...

info.
I have the latest stable version installed.
I am playing through my Desktop PC at the moment without having anything else open (tonight I will play through my netbook which has much less ram but in the MC's recommended limits).

The songs that just buffered were mp3s at 128 and 320 Bitrates. No CPU or RAM problems (and in abundance).

Live Playback Latency at minimum.
Audio Device Settings : towards to more responsive...
DSP Studio: Volume Leveling and Adaptive Volume set to Peak Normalize.

Thanks in advance

Are the songs playing off local storage or networked?
Try setting pre-buffering to the maximum 20 seconds.
If you don't have much RAM, ensure that the "play files from memory" option is not being used.

I set pre-buffering to 20 seconds.  Does this mean that MC will delay playing a song until it has prebuffered it? (depending on the CPU?)

The "play files form memory" isn't checked.

I play from my external drive (Toshiba 2tb usb 3.0).

I have some time for a couple of tests before I leave.

Thank you very much!
