AAC - can MC 9 developers offer paid-plugin?
« on: September 15, 2003, 07:07:31 pm »

Just curious if MC developers can offer a plugin that we would have to pay for in order to have complete AAC support... and how much do you think it would cost?

thnx.

I'd vote for this too - AAC's most likely going to take off in a big way once the Windows version of iTunes Music Store hits - and w/o AAC support, MC9 will be handicapped a bit.

Apple files are encrypted so that only Apple can play them.

That doesn't mean it's the only way to get an AAC file though. There are other alternatives.

Nero has a plugin that will make AAC files. And play them with their Digital suite.

And then there is the codecs you can 'test' from Rarewares...

MC needs to get on this boat.

Does anyone know someone capable of writing a plug-in for ACC?  In all honesty, that appears to be the only way we're going to get it on MC.

that does not mean that Matt has not cracked the encryption or was given the encryption key code by apple.

Further proving Apple, and not Microsoft, is the true monopoly
