Hi all –
I downloaded JRemote a few days ago for Android. I already had it on my iPad, and I'd been using Gizmo for Android for a couple years now. It's reliable and solid, but it was missing a few features I used often in JRemote (like playlist construction/editing).
I was using JRemote on a road trip to stream to my car stereo, but I was disappointed: the connection doesn't seem nearly as solid as Gizmo. I paid attention to the dropouts and they occurred when my 4G signal went below three chunks of signal strength. It seems that JRemote requires a much more reliable connection than Gizmo did, which led me to wonder if JRemote caches ahead, like Gizmo does. It appears not, as anytime the connection went iffy, music immediately stopped.
Kind of a letdown there. Can we add caching to JRemote? Or if it is caching, something else is up with it needing a constantly good connection to the server.
Thanks...
Micah
