Problems With Version Beyond MediaCenter200024.dmg
« on: May 15, 2015, 10:28:09 am »

I've notice a kind of momentary interruption of audio when you change tabs (e.g. created two tabs: Files & Player). And if you are listening for a long period of time the audio sometimes interrupts too, even if you don't do nothing in computer. Mac Book Pro 17'' 2011.

It doesn't happen when you install 20.0.24 and bellow. But a tried all versions beyond and the result was what I explain above.

What to do? Seems to be a code problem?

Tomaz

Does it happen after 2 hours or so of playing, then you get about a 1 second drop out which occurs about once every 30 seconds or so.

I have been getting this and can find no reason for it. Ive just posted that i think having the USB on its own hub has cleared it but maybe ive jumped the gun. Will know this weekend

If you change between tabs it happens immediately and almost every click. The spontaneous and intermittent interruptions start to happen after about 1 hour listening...
As I've said it only happen with releses beyond the 20.0.24.

This is very strange.  You're saying 124 doesn't cause it but 126 does?  I don't believe any changes were made between those releases that would affect audio.  We can't reproduce it here.  Any more info?

Adam,

He's reporting problems with releases greater than 24.  Not 124.

I don't usually use Tabs in MC, but I created a few and tested.  Clicking from tab to tab here doesn't produce any audio problems for me.  I'm not sure what's going on.  Mainly just reporting that tabs work ok for me and pointing out the version the OP is reporting.

Thanks blgentry, I missed that.  I wish we could reproduce this.  Tomaz, would you be willing to provide a log of the problem with version 126?

Of course, i'm here to help, big fan of JRiver since "my windows past years"... I've just installed the last release 126 again and the issue remains the same (changing tabs the audio gets always fast interruptions). Just to be shure, I downgrade to 24 release and voilą, everything goes smooth again.

The tab is not a big issue, as I said, about 1 or 2 hours of audio listening it starts to get interrupted without touch the computer or jriver media center.

OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 (14E46)
MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011)
2,2 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB

If there is anything that I can do, let me know.

Thanks

I noticed recently that the audio Device options in MC have changed.  There used to be 3 or 4 selections for Hardware buffering and now there are only two.  One of them makes my DAC do weird bad sounding stuff (subtle, but bad).  I have to use "Hardware Default" for good performance.

It's worth checking yours to see what it's set to:

Tools > Options > Audio > Device Settings > Buffering > Hardware

On mine, Maximum acts badly, while Hardware Default works correctly.  Just something to check.
