Kudos to J River team
« on: September 17, 2003, 09:32:40 am »

Just wanted to commend you all on a great - no fantastic - product.

Aside from the numerous features that make this superior to the competition, it is also relatively simple to use, and therefore easy for a new user to get up and running.

I was going to post a question yesterday for a 'feature request', however I thought I'd try a some alternatives.
My request was to have generic ; delimited lists, that didn't require a fixed definition when creating the field, but allowed the user to enter free form delimited lists when editing the audio files.  It works, and what a powerful feature.

I wanted to use the "Tones" and "Styles" fields, corresponding to the equivalents on AllMusic.COM (fantastic site).
I created the in the library, set the semicolon delimited option and created the two new fields.  Modified about 300 songs, entering in the data from AllMusic, changing the commas to ;'s and wham-bam-thankyou-mam, it worked :)

Using the Media Library grouping features, I now have Genre/Styles/Tones, and can listen to music in a whole different way.  Each item appears as a searchable key in the database.

Great job all.

Cheers,

Stu

Yep,

I might be a long time user of MJ/MC but, Whow !, I'm joining Stu on this one to congrat you once more.

I just played seriously with the latest builds of MC 9.1 and I realized that it has improved a lot in overall usability. Especially when dealing with mixed media (Audio, Images, Video). Still some work left for future versions (management of dates, image acquisition and other stuff) but for now you really have done a great work on MC.

Thanks for the great work folks,

C.

I agree the last few builds have been absolutely amazing.  I cannot believe how sometimes how much the program has improved over the last few weeks and months.  I am now preparing to send you my credit card details again ready for version 10!!

Keep up the great work!

Maybe you can make a plugin to automatically choose your outfits for you?

Use a digi cam - take pics of all your clothes and have the plugin chose some combo's for you :)

I have no "Outfits"

It's easy

1. Upper Body = T-Shirt (Any Color)
2. Lower Body = Shorts (Any Color)
3. Legs = White Socks
4. Feet = My Sneakers

The only other thing I wear is my Orkin Uniform.
