JRiver conflicts with Vegas and Sibelius

Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11.0 will not open if JRiver is installed on the same machine running Windows 7 x64. Removing JRiver solves the problem for Vegas.

Avid Sibelius launches JRiver whenever it opens, which is very annoying. I have set no file associations in JRiver but it doesn't help.

Disable: Tools → Options → General → Features → ASIO Driver

I have just installed Sibelius on a machine which already has Media Center 20 installed. The same problem - MC opens whenever I launch Sibelius. I disabled the ASIO driver option as instructed but it hasn't fixed the problem.
