Failed to create time-shifting file
« on: August 07, 2015, 03:24:47 pm »

When setting up the tv channels and again when trying to record, I get an error message:

Failed to create time-shifting file
Error: The parameter is incorrect
Code = 0x80070057
Please make sure you have write access to disk drive D: and enuf space.

The message was almost the same during set up, but this is pretty close to the one I get when trying to record.

I have Administrator rights and D: has 629GB free.

Note:  I tried turning off the time-shifting mode, but an error code won't let me save the change.  The option still want to set up a time-shifting folder.

S0, I can't watch tv.  I can't record tv.  And the new epg only has 24 hrs of info.  Very sad.

You mention "Digital Cable".  Are the channels encrypted ?   What are using to tune the channels ?

No encryption.  Source choices are Comcast Digital Cable, Comcast Standard Cable, etc.  I'm using two HomeRun Primes, although only one shows in the setup process.

Solved.  As usual, the cause is me - instead of MC.   :'(
