Howdy...

I hope this isn't obvious, becuase I'm not sure how to find it:

Is it possible to create a new, large MP3 file from a playlist, with crossfades between the songs?

For example, I select 10 songs from my library, with a 10 second crossfade between them. I press a button, and end up with 1 new mp3 file on my drive, with all 10 songs in it, includin the crossfades?

There's no direct, one button way to do this. However, you can use the "diskwriter" output mode during playback which will create a wave format file with all your cross-fades in it. Then you could import this file into MC and use the file converter to convert it to mp3. Of course this involves decoding to wave and re-encoding to mp3 which will introduce some quality loss, but if you use high bitrate mp3 files it shouldn't be too noticeable.

You select the output mode (disk writer) in the "playback options" dialog, then click "settings" and uncheck the "break output..." option and select the directory you want the output to go to. Then "play" your playlist and the output file will be created. Switch your output mode back to normal and then import and convert the output wave file. It may sound complicated but it actually only takes a few minutes.
