right click context menu: genre, rating, mood
« on: September 16, 2003, 05:39:19 am »

'lo,

sorry if I missed this, but is there a way to configure MC to use context menus to allow us to quickly attribute genre, rating, mood, situation etc to tracks?

I've found "send to", but is doesn't have any of the above.

I'd be happy to configure it as anexternal if only I knew how.

It's a pretty important function for me, and a few others I suspect. It means that everytime I listen to a song I can pigeonhole it easily...

You'll have to use in-place editing in the list, tagging mode, or the Tag Info screen.

darn ... that is a real nuisance... it takes a lot more mousing around and typing - MUCH more of a pain than a simple right-click/click. I'd have thought that a right-click menu would be much better. Didn't we used to have one for ratings?

I'm thinking particularly of it working in the larger "now playing" pane at the top of the main windows (but also in track lists elsewhere obviously). The thing about that is you can mouse there really fast and don't have to be accurate, which makes it MUCH quicker and easier for us lazy types...
