Are you running RO+HQ, if so go into MadVR settings and try setting "force to film" mode.
Check your settings in MC under Tools>Options>Video uncheck "hardware accelerate when possible" and check your settings in "Display settings".
In the same area, turn on "Display Settings automatic change mode" to ON.

Also don't forget to check the settings in your new TV. There may be "smooth motion" setting or similar, that needs setting

What are your Audio settings in MC? Are you playing directly to TV or through an AVR?
I had stuttering when MC audio settings where Not set to WASAPI. But everyone's setup is different.

I don't why a new TV would cause problems if you didn't change anything in MC (unless you had this problem all along and its just more visible on the new TV).

playing through Onkyo MC settings not changed using RO standard I was going to try RO+HQ but dont know where to force film to MADvr
Lip sync was very bad on one movie so I ticked video clock and that seems to have fixed that but frame skipping is still happening.
Pic shows display settings.

Tried all the suggested settings with ROHQ only problem is switching on 25fps does not work. found smooth motion setting on TV and set that now back on RO standard video reclock on and switching 25fps working. tried watching something panning across the screen looks better but still has the odd skip.

Any help is greatly appreciated

still having problems with auto frame rate switching.

Using ro standard auto switching video clock on.
25fps will not switch display becomes confused looks like the picture is overlaid many time.
To fix I can remove all fps settings from 25 to black but that would be a big job or I can custom set from 50 to 60
Can someone tell me which setting to use that would play them all smooth

So if you have 25/50fps - then your not in USA?  Or are you just watching PAL content?

Set for 50fps since that is a multiple of 25.

I looked up the TV specs (maybe I looked a the wrong model or there is a US and a European version) but it looks like this is a US model TV. Have you tried any 24p films or 30fps NTSC (US) DVDs?

I am in Australia,I have tried 50fps in the display settings and it will not work others like 24 30 and 23.98 work.
My question was for a work around as at the moment if I take of switching the 24fps etc are jumpy so my only options are change all 25fps in jriver to another frame rate or delete all 25fps tags. your help is appreciated

I'm not very familiar with 25 and 50 fps playback - perhaps 623.. will come back to the forum, or Jmone can jump in and help you out. I know they watch PAL content.

I noticed in the User manual for your TV there is a setting to reduce judder (under User>setup). Perhaps try that setting out until someone more knowledgeable comes along.

You have the box in JRiver video settings "checked" for use Video Clock. And you have the "Display Settings Automatic Change Mode" turned "On". I'm not sure what else to tell you.
The only other thing I can suggest is to look at is your graphics card settings. Have you checked the Resolution setting in the graphics card properties? Do you use 1920x1080 at 60Hz or 50Hz?

Can you modify your post title to indicate that you "need help with 25/50 fps playback settings"? Perhaps someone that uses that display rate will jump in.

Good luck

What video card are you using?

Is "Automatic Change Mode" just set to on, without any other tinkering?

Video card is nvidia GT9500
I have tried setting the FPS but that makes no difference.
I cant play anything in 25fps therefore I have to switch off auto and put up with judder.

Yep, the only way I found to reliably get 25/50 to work is to set Display Settings automatic change mode to Off and then to play a movie, press pause, go to the desktop, go to the MADVR icon in the System tray, edit the settings and specify all of the appropriate rates for your display. I can't remember what the exact setting are at the moment because I'm not in front of my computer.

You might need to add 1080p25 as a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel.

The 9500 GT is a very old card and I can not find any specs on what resolutions and frequencies it supports.  It defiantly can not support ROHQ so leave MC in RO Std.

For us in PAL Land (I'm in OZ), I'd suggest that in the nVidia Control Panel you set you resolution and frequency to 1920x1080 / 50hz.  Then in MC just enable Tools --> Options --> Video --> Display Settings --> Display Settings automatic change mode = On.  You don't need any custom settings and I would not recommend using 25hz or special settings in the TV.

I'm guessing the 25/50 material you are looking at is Interlaced (eg TV style stuff) and you may find the ability of your system to deinterlace is just too much for this card.

To work this out can you please answer the following:
- Can you set 1920x1080 / 50hz in the nVidia Control Panel
- What Model Onkyo do you have
- Do you connect your PC to the Onkyo or to the TV
- Do you use HDMI for all the connections
- The 25/50 material you are trying to play is it Interlaced (eg TV Series stuff)
- What is the Spec of your PC (In MC do a Tools --> System Info) --> "Copy to Clipboard" and then post the results here

I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it.
Thanks
Nathan

Thanks for jumping in jmone.

I was looking at the TV's specs/review here http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2015/05/lg-lf6300-led-tv-australian-review/ and saw this mentioned:
There’s some screen refresh rate finagling going on with the LF6300 model range. If you pick the 32- or 40-inch model, you’ll only get a 50Hz native refresh rate, and the slightly jittery motion that comes along with that. If you step up to the 49- or 55-inch, you’ll get 100Hz, and this is a good minimum entry level if you’re going to be watching a lot of fast-moving sport or if you like your movies to look smooth.

BTW - Maid has the 55" set (per signature line). Also signature line says video card in NVidia GTX460.

So I think the first post is incorrect (?) this TV is a 1080p 100Hz set (not 120Hz like in the USA).

Maid, also please make sure that your Onkyo's HDMI output is set to Passthrough, or maybe Source. It could be that you have it set at 60 Hz or 24 Hz and it is forcing out all inputs at one of those, causing the judder.

For the record, I think it's best if you hold off on all of this until you have installed your new video card.

would the graphics card we have now explain the muffled voices that we have now???
all things I have read about this Onkyo says setup is easy using the golden ear but there are so many other different settings that we do not understand
